Celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child

October 11th saw celebration of the International day of the Girl Child, Embu College students and staff had an opportunity to listen to an inspirational mentorship talk by Dr. Fridah Karani, President Embu County Campus Students Organization (ECCSO). Fridah is focused on mentoring young women and men to get opportunities to go where she didn’t get when she was their age.

She holds a Diploma in Social Work from the Government Training Institute now KSG, a Bachelor of Arts, Social Work from Catholic University of East Africa, a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management/ Entrepreneurship from the Kenya Methodist University and a PhD in Strategic Management and Leadership from JKUAT. Dr. Karani’s mentorship is based on her personal life from earning a meagre Shs. 4,000 salary to getting Shs. 240,000 as a university lecturer to building her own business empire Dr. Karani is quite inspirational.
