Brief history about KASNEB
KASNEB established the KASNEB Foundation under an irrevocable Trust for the purpose of availing bursaries and loans to needy students to enable them pursue qualifications of KASNEB.
The Foundation was established on 13 September 2020.
The establishment of the Foundation was approved by the National Treasury and Planning, and it was officially launched on the 24th July 2020.The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees.

OVERVIEW OF THE COURSE
Accounting primary focus is to prepare students as paraprofessionals who have a wide array of
skills and knowledge in pursuing a business career. Accounting is a vital part of every business.
If you would like a challenging, fast-paced work environment, then this major is for you. As
members of a diversified profession which is growing rapidly, accountants are more in demand
than ever before in private industry, State and County governmental agencies, certified public
accounting firms, and education sector. As a part of this field, you will get to learn how business
works. Accounting is continuously evolving and the work is challenging, yet stimulating.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The aims of an accounting course examined by KASNEB include to:
i. Produce qualified accountants or account technicians
ii. Impart professional values and ethics, communication skills, creativity, innovation and
ability to generate ideas.
iii. Provide a basis for the application of advanced knowledge in accounting.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION:
A person seeking to be registered as a student for ATD examination must show evidence of
being a holder of the following qualifications:
a. KCSE with an aggregate average of at least grade C-
b. A KASNEB technician/ Diploma
c. Such other certificates as may be approved by KASNEB
A person seeking to be registered as a student for CPA or Diploma in Credit Management
examination must show evidence of being a holder of the following qualifications:
a. KCSE with an aggregate average of at least grade C+ and a C+ in English and
Mathematics.
b. A KASNEB technician, Diploma or professional examination certificate
c. A degree from a recognized university
d. Such other certificates or diplomas as may be approved by KASNEB
MODE OF ASSESSMENT:
Exams are set externally and conducted by KASNEB. However a student is required to sit for all
internal CATS and Mocks as per the College examinations regulations
