On Sunday, 17th September,2023, athletes drawn from all corners of the country took part in the Imani Seven Forks Half Marathon, an event that was aimed at supporting orphaned and needy children at Imani Christian School while making a positive impact on the environment. The marathon kicked off at Matendeni, along Gitaru hydro Dam, Embu County, and encompassed the following races;
21KM Race (Half Marathon)
10KM Race
5KM Race (Fun Run)
Leonard Kipkoech Langat and Evalyne Chirchir, won the half marathon while Brian Muthomi of Embu High altitude training club, Embu College, emerged position 8. The event culminated in a tree-planting exercise in which over 100,000 tree seedlings were planted in alignment with the President’s initiative to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.
