Hundreds of youth drawn from various parts of the larger Embu County today converged at the Embu Talent Academy for a \”Career Launch Pad\”- Embu Chapter. Led by Panel Moderator Mumbi Insinsa, CEO Flare Up Africa, also a TV producer and PR expert and Panelists Fozia Hussein and John Kariuki, regional Manager, Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) and a Counsellor and digital strategist respectively, the speakers covered a wide range of topics relating to making the right career choice.
Fozia urged the youth to embrace the creative industry noting that it is a multi-billion industry capable of employing thousands of youth. Kariuki on the other hand noted that technological advancement had created numerous digital platforms that have positively transformed lives. Embu College Principal Boniface Mwangi encouraged the audience to have a positive attitude in life as it is \”paramount to what they become in future\”. Representatives from learning institutions and TVET including Amboseli Institute of Hospitality, Embu College, TENRI Vocational Training Centre, Murang\’a TTI among others also graced the event. Embu College School of Hair dressing and Beauty Therapy gave free make-up to the audience while Kirimara Opticians conducted free eye check ups.
