What is Agricultural Extension?

Agricultural extension is defined as a formalized process that facilitates the transfer of knowledge and innovation to farmers through both externally driven and locally adapted pathways, aiming to enhance agricultural practices and contribute to food security. It emphasizes the importance of relational values and farmer-to-farmer communication in achieving adaptive agricultural systems.

TVET Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC) in Kenya offers competency-based education and training (CBET) courses in Agricultural Extension, designed to equip learners with practical skills to support farmers, enhance agricultural productivity, and promote sustainable farming practices. These programs are designed for various levels, including Artisan (Level 4/5) and Certificate/Diploma (Level 6).
