The Electrical Engineering programme at Embu College is a competency-based course accredited by CDACC and designed to prepare learners for technical roles in electrical systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and industrial automation support. The programme builds upon foundational electrical installation skills and advances into more complex power systems, control systems, and electrical design concepts.
As Kenya continues to expand in infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energy, and construction sectors, qualified electrical engineering technicians are increasingly in demand. This programme equips students with practical and theoretical competencies required to work in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical environments.
Level 5 (Certificate): 3 Modules (3 Semesters)
Level 6 (Diploma): 5–8 Modules depending on progression
Each module represents one semester and follows CDACC occupational standards.
Level 5: KCSE D+
Level 6: KCSE C- or progression from Level 5
Electrical power generation fundamentals
Transmission and distribution systems
Industrial wiring and motor control systems
