Friday, 24th October: Members of the Embu College fraternity held a thanksgiving ceremony to commemorate the institution’s 30 years of existence as a beacon of knowledge, hope and excellence.
In a colorful ceremony, led by Embu College Chairman, Kithinji Kiragu and presided by Diocese of Embu Bishop Peter Kimani, the event is a reflection of the milestone that the institution has undergone in its three decades of existence. KK praised students, staff, local community and all stakeholders for their overwhelming trust and support noting that without them, the institution would not be in existence. Bishop Kimani attributed the success to prayer and sacrifice. He called on staff and students to uphold virtue not only in the institution but also at their workplace. Embu College library was renamed ‘Michael Kiragu’ memorial library in memory of mzee Michael Kiragu, KK’s late father, who despite being illiterate was instrumental in the institution’s establishment. Also present was former PS International Security Mr. Cyrus Gituai, members of the clergy, family and friends of the larger Kiragu family as well as students and staff of our brother school – All Saints Embu High school…
