Suicide remains a major threat to any society’s development. Cases of people taking their own lives have become rampant thanks to social, economic and mental challenges. On 10th September, peer counsellors of Embu College joined Cynert Rehabilitation Center in marking World Suicide Prevention Day. The ceremony, whose theme was ‘Changing the narrative on suicide’, held a processional walk from Kangaru to Mutunduri in a bid to caution residents against the same.
At Embu College, we emphasise optimum mental health by offering free peer counselling training every semester in collaboration with the college counsellor Rev. Lilly Muchangi’s office. it is also available to offer counselling to both students and staff.
